What an exciting past few weeks it has been for us to finish our newest issue and share it with all of our contributors. We drove down to Santa Cruz on Friday the 18th, for the event at the museum downtown – not only did we get to catch up with friends old and new, but it was a night full of sharing all the work we have put into mudthroat since the beginning with the public, sharing our philosophy, our inspiration, and ever-widening our community! We then headed back up to Berkeley for our release party the next night – and the turn out was incredible! We want to thank Josh Sorkin for providing entertainment throughout the night, as well as all the performers: Seek the Freek (+ Jennae for the spectacular live painting), Robert Marshall, Katie Wheeler-Dubin, Ian Schimmelfennig, Barbara Nerness, Ross Warren, Thrishi, Half Wolf, Fell to Low, and Babewave. We were also delighted that Tiny Splendor was able to come and sell prints and take part in the celebration! Many thanks to the Foundry for the space – and don’t forget to check out their next event on February 23rd! (more info soon)

Mudthroat will be at the book arts + poetry event this friday at the Santa Cruz MAH! We will be demo-ing woodcut carving and printing and will be showing off work from all 5 issues!

We are also having our epic release party for the new issue in berkeley on saturday with lots of great performances lined up as well as top notch artists showing their work, and of course, all 5 issues on display. We are also super excited about having Tiny Splendor come to show off what they’ve been up to recently!

To all you field guide contributors out there, come to either event and retrieve your copy without paying postage! hope to see you soon and don’t stop making beautiful things.
